2008-08-22

Hurricane Dolly, a category 2 hurricane, made landfall in South Padre Island, TX July 23, 2008.  Under contract with Cameron County, Ceres was on the ground prior to and after the hurricane made landfall responding to the county's needs.  The July 23rd hurricane produced approximately 400,000 cubic yards of brush and vegetative debris.  Ceres began collecting debris only days after the hurricane made landfall allowing residents time to get the debris to the side of the curbs on streets for pick up.  Ceres was managing the operation of debris removal with approximately 55 trucks which were operating twelve hours a day seven days a week.
